My Hitchcock Heroine is now complete… And here she is…

An interesting fact to begin with… Alfred Hitchcock and I share the same birthday, August 13th, alas not the same year. So my finished illustration is very Tippi Hedren; an American actress and former model who worked with Hitchcock in a couple of his films. So the story behind the checked coat… When I was at secondary school, I became obsessed with the 1960’s Op Artist Bridget Riley. Every picture I created had her signature black and white check in, I loved the detail and the delicate structure, so opposite to any organic form. It followed me for several years, and quite often in my work since then, you can see a cheeky nod to her, with a snippet of Riley check. Without further ado… here she is…
